This spreadsheet file, designed by the FIREkit team, allows you to import data into your FIREkit portfolio. It includes three main tabs where you can add relevant entries:
Custom Tab: Use this tab to import assets that are not securities or cryptocurrencies, such as bank deposits, cash, or other types of financial assets.
Stocks Tab: Use this tab to import data about shares and stock assets, specifying the ticker, number of shares, price, and type of transaction.
Crypto Tab: Use this tab to import cryptocurrencies, including data about cryptocurrency type, quantity, price, and type of transaction.
Clear Template Data
Ensure you delete all pre-populated data from the template before uploading it to FIREkit, except column headers that are used for import.
New Assets Only
Import is used to create new assets in your portfolio. It does not update existing assets yet.
Follow Format Guidelines
Make sure your data follows the format outlined below (e.g., use supported currency codes like USD, EUR, CAD). Incorrect formats will result in import errors.

To help avoid errors during import, here are some common issues and how to resolve them:
Incorrect date format
Ensure dates are entered in MM/DD/YYYY format. If you are unsure, leave the field blank, and the current date will be used automatically.
Missing required fields
Double-check that all required columns, such as AssetName, Currency, and Operation, are filled out. Missing fields will cause the import to fail.
Invalid transaction type
Use valid transaction types for each tab. For example, only DepositWithdrawal and ProfitLoss are allowed for a Custom tab.
Negative balance
Stock and Crypto assets can't have a negative balance, since we support a positive transaction chain to correctly calculate all indicators (e.g. profitability XIRR, TWR).
Type mismatch
Some cells contain data types that do not match the expected format. For instance, numeric columns may have text, or date fields may include invalid characters. Review and correct these mismatches in your Excel file.
File size limit exceeded
The uploaded Excel file is too large to process. Ensure the file size adheres to the 1MB limit.
Unsupported file type
The uploaded file is not a supported format. Accepted formats include XLS and XLSX. Please convert your file to one of these formats and try again.
Unsupported coin, ticker, or currency
One or more rows reference unsupported coins, tickers, or currencies. Verify that all assets match the supported list of tickers, coins, or currency symbols, provided by the system.
